Hirta – Scotland
This impressive piece of land was once home to an entire village in the 1930s. However, the climate of northern Scotland is not an easy thing to combat, and the inhabitants moved to a warmer place.
One day they woke up and left, resulting in this completely deserted village. These stone houses are now standing, unchanged, after 80 years. Many of them seem to be repairable, so who knows what the future holds for Hirta.
