Gougi Island – China
This forgotten fishing village is located on the Yangtze River. Incredibly, since its citizens abandoned the location, moss and ivy have surrounded all the buildings – giving this green touch.
The photos began to circulate on the Internet of the lost village that had finally been photographed and was shared with millions of people. One website called it ‘The Dream of the Wizard of Oz’.
St. Nicholas Church – Macedonia
Today, this church is flooded a few feet below Lake Mavrovo in Macedonia. Once upon a time, people traveled to visit and pray at the spiritual site.
Unfortunately, a local power plant was built nearby and caused flooding, affecting the church. It’s not good luck if you ask us! Today, it is visited by the occasional cow.
