Bodie – California, USA
This chilling ghost town is one of the most famous of its kind on the west coast, on the border with Nevada. What was once a successful gold mining town next to the mountains is practically stuck in time after everyone abandoned it.
It has remained intact for decades, which means that you can still find its relics in several of the small town’s buildings. It reminds us of Radiator Springs in the Pixar Cars film.
Aniva Rock Lighthouse – Russia
This Russian lighthouse was built by the Japanese in 1939 during the war. It looks like somewhere Luke Skywalker would hide – or not, depending on your preference for Star Wars!
After the war, the lighthouse was annexed because its entire existence was full of conflicts. Today, it stands out as a reminder of the war and the battles fought on its coastlines.
